'PAY' YOURSELF

​​I have a Virgin Pulse app (through BCBS) that adds a new random Healthy Habit every few months. In May it added 'Pay Yourself'.
 
While that includes money, God reminded me to include the work or tasks I do for myself and to make sure to do them first. Often we spend time doing tasks for everyone else first who have already accomplished or put into motion their big goals and dreams, while we leave ours for last when they either get done sloppily because of time constraints of being left for last or pushed to the next day/month/year or never get done.
 
'Pay' yourself first in those things God has called you to do, help the ones starting out and struggling, but don't give too much time to those who are already way past you who would rather you stay where you are and help them instead of rising in your assignments like they have. Some accomplished people want you to always AND ONLY be their scrub and never rise to your calling like God would have you to do.
 
(As I was writing this, the Lord reminded me that back in 1996/97, Pastor checked with me about this very thing. Someone was doing something awesome that I was helping them with in the background. He thought I was doing all the work because he didn't realize that person was capable of having that particular vision in them. Pastor told me to make sure I spent time in my stuff. I assured him I wasn't doing all the work and the other person was indeed the "author" of the vision they were working on and I just helped a teeny bit.)   Thanks for the reminder, Lord.
